Lenovo has announced a new handheld gaming PC called the Legion Go S, at CES 2025. With so many handheld devices already on the market, you might wonder—what makes this one special? The key feature is that the Lenovo Legion Go S is the world's first officially licensed third-party handheld powered by Valve's SteamOS. This is a great news for gamers!
Lenovo Legion Go S is smaller than the previous Legion Go and will be available in two versions: one with Windows and one with SteamOS.
The SteamOS version of the Legion Go S will be more affordable, starting at $499 compared to the $729 Windows version.
Whilst the Lenovo Legion Go S is the first officially licensed device, we can expect a beta version of SteamOS for other handhelds in the near future.
Valve has also indicated that it will continue to improve SteamOS support for more devices in the future.
