Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, codenamed Xenial Xerus, final beta is available for download. All Ubuntu users are encouraged to and download and test it. The development cycle of Ubuntu 16.04 has come to end, and the final version is on its way, and as you probably know it will be available on April 21, 2016. In addition, the Ubuntu Kernel development team has announced few days ago,
Our Xenial kernel has been re-based to v4.4.6 and is available for testing in the archive, ie linux-4.4.0-15.31. Please test and let us know your results. Also, as an early reminder, Xenial Kernel Freeze is ~2 weeks away on Thursday, April 7. We encourage anyone needing kernel patches pulled into Xenial to please submit them as soon as possible in order to make Kernel Freeze. Thanks!
However, the final beta still has Linux Kernel 4.4.0-15 version. Ubuntu 16.04 LTS final version might be shipped with long-term supported kernel version 4.4.6. Both the OS and Kernel are long-term supported versions. How cool, isn't it?

Known problems
There is an important bug in this final beta. It will be fixed before releasing the final version.
If you attempt to install Ubuntu 16.04 beta to a hard drive that already contains a swap partition, you might have some issues in the partitioning section.
To fix this issue, boot to the live session, and open the terminal and type:
sudo swapoff -a
You can then start the installation from the icon on the desktop and it should proceed successfully.
